Raiders boys fall in final Heart of Iowa matchup

The Collins-Maxwell-Baxter boys basketball team dropped its Heart of Iowa Conference finale Tuesday night with a 53-36 loss to Roland-Story on the road in Story City.

The Raiders (3-16, 3-15) snapped an eight-game losing streak with a win over Colfax-Mingo on Friday, but couldn’t keep the wins coming against the second-place Norseman. CMB outscored R-S 29-21 in the second half, but couldn’t overcome the 36-16 lead the Norsemen built up in the first half, as four players finished in double figures.

CMB will finish up its regular season on the road when it travels to Woodward-Granger on Thursday. The Raiders will then host Colfax-Mingo in the first round of district playoffs on Feb. 13.
