Benefit planned for Feb. 18

A benefit for Dean Cossel, who has been diagnosed with throat cancer and is undergoing radiation and chemotherapy treatments, is planned for Saturday, Feb. 18, at the D&T Tap in Reasnor.

Admission is $5 per person. The event will include a silent auction from noon to 6 p.m. and a live auction at 6 p.m. There also will be a 50/50 drawing and raffle tickets available for a chance to win half a hog or Iowa Speedway tickets. Music by a local deejay will begin at 7 p.m., and plate dinners will be available for $6 per plate. Menu items include beefburgers, chips, baked beans and baked goods. Koozies will be for sale for $5.

A Black Jack tournament will begin at noon and includes a $20 entry fee. Half of the money will be paid out to the first, second and third place winners. Sign-up for a bag tournament will begin at 2:30 p.m., and the tournament will begin at 3 p.m. The entry fee is $10 per person, and payouts will be given to the first and second place teams. A beer pong tournament with an entry free of $10 per couple will begin at 7:30 p.m.

Donations can be made at First Newton National Bank and designated for the Dean Cossel Benefit Account.
