Jasper County Conservation will host an Older, Wiser, Livelier Seniors program beginning at 10 a.m. Wednesday at the Jasper County Community Center.
When the Wisconsin, Iowa and Nebraska Railway decided to build a railroad through Jasper County, they bypassed every existing town, and new towns, including Ira, Mingo and Valeria, appeared almost overnight. Come learn the stories of these towns and how they came to be part of the “railroad romance.”
The O.W.L.S. program is a free conservation program that encourages seniors to stay active and learn new things about the natural world.
For more information, contact the Jasper County Conservation Office, at (641) 792-9780.
