• Eric K. Bullard, 23, of Newton was charged with driving while license suspended at 2:16 a.m. Tuesday after officers stopped his vehicle for traveling without operational license plate and brake lights. According to a police report, Bullard’s vehicle was pulled over in the 1000 block of South Eighth Avenue East. An investigation revealed that his driver’s license was invalid, and he also was cited for unlawful use of license during the incident. Bullard was released to appear in court.

• Nicholas A. Georgou, 22, of Newton was charged with driving while license suspended at 4:36 a.m. Tuesday after police said they observed him running a stop sign in the 1700 block of South Eighth Avenue East. According to a police report, authorities stopped Georgou’s vehicle in the 400 block of East 17th Street South and gave the driver a warning for failing to stop at the traffic control device. He was released to appear in court.

• Larisha M. Godsey, 22, of Newton was charged with driving while license suspended at 4:49 a.m. Wednesday after police said they observed her as she ran a stop sign in the 1200 block of South Eighth Avenue East. According to a police report, an investigation revealed that Godsey’s driver’s license was invalid. She was cited, given a warning for failing to stop and released to appear in court.

• Dawn M. Seifert, 30, of Newton was arrested at 2:26 p.m. Wednesday on a Jasper County warrant for a probation violation. According to a police report, Seifert was located at her residence at 1608 First Avenue West and transported to the Jasper County Jail. She pleaded guilty in August to unlawful possession of prescription drugs. A hearing for her recent violation has not yet been scheduled, according to online court records.

Jasper County Sheriff’s Office

• Joshua S. Bowman, 19, of Colfax was arrested and charged with fourth-degree theft Monday for allegedly stealing three pieces of jewelry during a Sept. 20 incident from a victim with whom he resides. According to sheriff’s office report, Bowman admitted to deputies that he took the pieces from 5552 West 68th St. S. in Colfax and sold them to Newton Pawn and Gun, one item on Sept. 20, and the remaining two on Sept. 21. Officers said that the victim provided a receipt for a pair of earrings valued at $157.94. A gold ring and chain, admittedly stolen by the subject, were valued at $150 and $110 respectively. Bowman arrived at the Jasper County Sheriff’s Office at 3 p.m. to receive his charges and was placed in jail.
