Jo Ann De Reus, 79, of Newton, formerly of Colfax, died on Wednesday, Feb. 1, 2012, at the Skiff Hospice Monarch Wing in Newton.

A memorial service will be at 11 a.m., Saturday, Feb. 4, at the Howard Street Christian Church, 101 N. Locust St. in Colfax.                                                The family will greet friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Friday, Feb. 3, at the Howard Street Christian Church in Colfax. Burial will be at a later date at the McKeever Cemetery in rural Colfax.     

Memorials to the Howard Street Christian Church may be left at the church at the times of the visitation and funeral service or at the Wallace Family Funeral Home in Newton. Memorials may also be mailed to the funeral home. Please add, Attn: De Reus Family to the envelope.

Survivors include her husband of 61 years, LeRoy of Newton; son, Randy (Dixie) De Reus of Kellogg; two daughters, Deana (Terry) Lewis of Monroe, and Kim (Mark) Froah of Newton; her four grandchildren, Jason Lewis of Monroe, Lindsay (Travis) Landwehr of Prairie City, Lisa (Ryan) Braheny of Bloomingdale, Ill., and Ben Froah of Ames; three great-grandchildren, Charlotte, Victoria and Henry; and her two sisters, Janice Modde of Ankeny, and Pauline Doubblestein of Otsego, Mich.

Arrangements are being handled by the Wallace Family Funeral Home & Crematory in Newton.
