To the Editor,

The Friday, Jan. 20, cartoon by Belsa Blebbuc in which the devil is towering over a battered quarterback, Tim Tebow, was in very poor taste, insensitive to those who believe in prayer and probably a put-down to Christians since the cartoonist substituted a cross for a capital T in “t-BONED.”

Since this cartoonist makes fun of someone who kneels in prayer in public, he probably would make fun of those who make the sign of the cross before a difficult task. When I played high school basketball, we simply accepted that some players made a sign of the cross before shooting for a needed free throw point.

Tebow won several games to get the Denver Broncos into the playoffs, does not have the experience of New England Patriots’ quarterback Tom Brady and remained in the game despite injuries from a rough sacking. The Broncos’ spokesperson stated that Tebow stays.

So, I suggest you drop the cartoonist unless he improves.
