Skiff Medical Center’s Sports Rehab and Physical Therapy Clinic has finished the move to its new location in the lower level of the Ross Medical Arts Building (RMAB), 300 N. Fourth Ave. E., on the northeast side of Skiff’s main campus.

The clinic will maintain its status as an office-based practice, intended for patients with commercial health insurance plans. Hospital officials are interested in selling the building at 1730 E. First Ave., the former setting for the clinic, and investing the proceeds in capital equipment needs.

Matt Scotton, Director of Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation, said the new location allows better and more efficient service to patients.

“This makes other services offered at Skiff, such as Radiology or Laboratory services, much more accessible to patients. It’s much more convenient for patients to get all of their health care in one place.”

“It’s great to be in close proximity to our colleagues,” said physical therapist Brooke Burns. “We are able to share supplies and work together more closely, which ultimately benefits all of our patients.”

To celebrate the change, Skiff will be hosting an open house at the clinic from 2:30 to 4 p.m., Tuesday, Aug. 31. Light refreshments and fun activities will be available. The public is invited to attend.

Skiff’s PM&R department offers physical therapy, occupational therapy, speech therapy, massage therapy, sports medicine and audiology. Skiff employs 12 physical therapists with doctorate or master degrees, one physical therapist assistant and several board-certified specialists.

The Skiff Sports Rehab & Physical Therapy Clinic is open 7 a.m. to 5:30 p.m., Monday through Friday.

To schedule an appointment, call (641) 791-2300.
