New Newton officer takes oath

Jon Schuler was hired by the Newton Police Department in February after he was selected from a list of 27 candidates. Mayor Chaz Allen swore in Officer Schuler on Thursday. Officer Schuler will attend the Iowa Law Enforcement Academy in Johnston from April 26 until graduation on July 30.
