Board work sessions planned for tonight
Two work sessions for members of the Newton Community School District Board of Education have been scheduled for tonight.
The first full board work session will be at 6 p.m. During the work session, board members will receive a demonstration of the Transfinder Program, a computer program that shows where the population of the students live and how to move the boundary lines for a possible realignment to best serve the community.
During the 6 p.m. work session, the full board will go through different scenarios about the Monday night school board meeting where the board will tentatively take action concerning the elementary boundary and realignment decision.
At 8 p.m. tonight a second work session for the Elementary Boundary and Realignment Subcommittee will take place. Subcommittee members will work on what their recommendation will be to the board concerning the elementary boundary and realignment at Monday’s meeting.
Both work sessions will be at the Administration Office Annex Conference Room, 807 S. Sixth Ave. W.
