MAT members place in February meet

Members of MAT Tumbling/Trampoline traveled southwest in February to compete at a two-day USTA/AAU meet.

Local MAT members, ages 4 to 16 years old, competed in trampoline and double-mini on Feb. 6 and in tumbling on Feb. 7.

“I like to tumble. It’s lots of fun,” 5-year-old Trista Thompson said.

MAT is into the heart of the competition season, with four more meets to attend before hosting the Iowa state pre-state championships at the Babe Harder Gym at MCC in Marshalltown. Sub-beginner girls — age 4, Madi DeGoey, third place; age 5, Leila Shetler, seventh place, and Audrey Rausch, first place.

Beginner girls — age 6, Margo Chipps, 10th place; age 7, Lili Rausch, third place.
