Democrat county convention 
set for Saturday in Newton

The Jasper County Democrats County Convention is set for Saturday at the Jasper County Community Center in Newton.

Doors will open at 9 a.m., with the convention beginning at 9:30 a.m. Delegates elected at the January precinct caucus will be listening to candidates seeking office for this election year, establishing a party platform, selecting officers to lead the county Democratic Party and electing delegates to the district and state conventions.
