PELLA (CC) — Seven Central College athletes have qualified for the NCAA Division III indoor track and field meet.

The meet will be contested at the DePauw Univ. (Ind.) Indoor Tennis and Track Center in Greencastle, Ind., today and Saturday.

Kurtis Brondyke (junior, Clinton) and Ethan Miller (sophomore, Seymour) qualified in the pentathlon while Miller also has been accepted into the long jump competition. Newton native Matt Graber will be in the shot put field.

It’s a return trip in the pentathlon for Brondyke and Miller, who placed sixth and eighth, respectively, at last year’s meet at Terre Haute, Ind.

For the Dutch women, the 1,600-meter relay unit of Felicia Coleman (freshman, Houston, Texas, Frank Dobie HS), Sam Retz (freshman, Atkins, Benton HS), Emily Teas (junior, Indianola) and Jill Ziskovsky (junior, Dallas Center, Dallas Center-Grimes HS) took the 11th and final spot.

While Central’s women weren’t represented at last year’s meet, Teas and Ziskovsky both ran on the 1,600-meter relay for the Dutch at the 2008 meet in Ada, Ohio, placing eighth.
