Book Review of the Week By Sarrah Knight
Library Staff Member
They thought they’d eliminated their rat.
However, in the latest Bishop/SCU novel, “Blood Ties” by Kay Hooper, Bishop’s crew quickly discovers otherwise when a sniper starts taking potshots at agents working crime scenes. The trickiest part of this case is figuring out how the vendetta against the Special Crimes Unit ties to the gory string of murders the unit is currently investigating. When one of the SCU’s mediums falls victim to the gunman, she puts together part of the puzzle while unconscious--but can Diana recover in time to keep anyone else from dying?
Kay Hooper’s “Blood Ties” is action-packed nearly to the point of being overwhelming. Fans will appreciate how it ties up loose ends from the previous books in the trilogy but still leaves enough dangling threads for more books in the series.
Intro to the Internet — Library Classes
One week sessions of computer classes for adults are taught by Public Services Librarian Holly Youngquist from March through May. Classes meet three days a week from 9 to 10 a.m.
Each one week session covers computer basics and an introduction to Internet searches.
Sign-up sheets are located at the Information Desk.
Classes are free but are limited to four students per weekly session. If you have questions, call the library at (641) 792-4108.
