Estate planning class offered in Marshalltown, Iowa Falls

Thousands of dollars in taxes can often be avoided by good planning, and a course titled “Estate Planning” provides background information to assist participants to work more effectively with their professional and legal advisors.

The topics will include property ownership, wills, federal estate tax, Iowa inheritance tax, gifting, trusts and gift taxes. The class instructor will be Kelvin Leibold, farm management field specialist for Iowa State University Extension. The cost is $25 for a single or a couple to attend the class.

The class will be offered at two locations through Iowa Valley Continuing Education. On Wednesday, Jan. 27, the class will be from 1 to 3:30 p.m. at IVCE, 3702 S. Center St., Marshalltown, Room 608. On Tuesday, Feb. 2, the class will be from 6:30 to 9 p.m. in Iowa Falls on the Ellsworth Community College campus, Reg Johnson, Room 102.
