CVFA bringing ‘Friday Night Fight’ to VFW in Newton again Jan. 22
The Cedar Valley Fighting Association returns to the Newton VFW at 8 p.m. Friday, Jan. 22, with another edition of “Friday Night Fights.”
The event features the highly anticipated rematch between Preston McConnell of Newton and Kyle Clark of Marshalltown. The two fighters fought last December, with Kyle Clark pulling out a decision win over McConnell.
The event also will include the amateur signup division in which local competitors may compete. Interested participants must be at the VFW between 5 to 7 p.m. the night of the fights to register.
Doors open at 6 p.m. Jan. 22 with the first fight set to start at 8 p.m. Advance tickets are $15 and are available at VFW in Newton. For more information, e-mail afafighting@yahoo.com or visit www.cvfa.info.
