Local student participates in Psi Sigma Tau at Central
PELLA — Several Jasper County students have been accepted as members of Central College’s Psi Sigma Tau coed fraternity.
Psi Sigma Tau is the newest and currently largest Greek group at Central College. The group was founded in 2005 on the principles of life, wisdom and honor. Psi Sigma Tau has become actively involved in the community on and off campus in promoting service and academic achievement.
Psi Sigma Tau annually hosts an Apples to Apples tournament and Tacos Bajos. The group has been involved in free campus tutoring, adopted a highway and a school supply drive for children in Afghanistan.
Local members include Baxter resident Nicole Ferguson, a sophomore cultural anthropology major and graduate of Baxter High School; Colfax residents Erin Hilker, a senior Spanish major, and Megan Hilker, a senior physics and Spanish major, both graduates of Colfax-Mingo High School; and Newton resident Nicole Jensen, a sophomore psychology major and graduate of Newton Senior High School.
