Newton Elks Lodge collecting deer hides to benefit disabled veterans

The Iowa Elks and Newton Elks Lodge #1270 are collecting donated deer hides to benefit disabled veterans by providing leather to craft wheelchair gloves and other leather goods.

Deer hunters may bring their deer hides to any of the following locations: Izaak Walton League, Newton Elks Lodge (back door) or the Newton Feed Center in Newton; Hewitt’s Service Center, Barber Lumber and Monroe Feed Center in Monroe; Saak Auto Repair in Baxter; the Colfax Fire Department in Colfax; the grain elevator in Kellogg; and the Prairie City Feed Center in Prairie City.
