WEST DES MOINES — More Iowa students will have the information they need to pursue a college education, thanks to a grant the Iowa College Access Network (ICAN) recently received from KnowHow2GO, a national multimedia campaign to encourage students to find their way to college.

“This grant money will go to programs throughout the state that help students get to college, so they can help spread the KnowHow2GO message,” said Juan Garcia, manager of ICAN. “We are all working together to make sure all students, especially those who don’t believe they have a chance at a college education, know how to get help.”

ICAN will distribute $11,200 to each of 10 qualifying Iowa organizations by Feb. 1, 2010, based on grant applications now available at www.KnowHow2GOIowa.org. An informational session on the grant program and application will take place Tuesday, Dec. 1, at 2:30 p.m. Attendees may participate via Webinar or in person at the ICAN College Planning Center in West Des Moines. Questions are welcome during the session.

Applications are available at www.KnowHow2GOIowa.org or by contacting Garcia at (515) 273-7166 or jgarcia@ICANsucceed.org. To reserve a spot for the Dec. 1 informational session, interested organizations should contact Rebecca Bahl at rbahl@ICANsucceed.org.
