L-S girls begin basketball season ranked in top 10
The Iowa Girls High School Athletic Union has released its preseason girls basketball rankings and Lynnville-Sully will begin the season ranked No. 8 in Class 1A.
The top-ranked team in 1A will be North Butler followed by Martensdale-St. Marys. Des Moines Christian is one slot behind the Hawks at No. 9.
In Class 2A, Cascade begins the season as No. 1 followed by Manson-NW Webster. Albia is just outside the top 10 at No. 11.
The top-ranked team in Class 3A to begin the season is Sioux City Bishop Heelan. Waukon is No. 2, while defending champion Ballard is No. 8 and Little Hawkeye Conference representative Knoxville is No. 14.
The top four ranked teams in Class 4A are Cedar Rapids Kennedy, Ankeny, Linn-Mar and Waukee. Kennedy is led by Jade Rogers, who recently committed to the University of Iowa.
