Book Review of the Week

by Library Staff Member,

Sarrah Knight

A new twist in the paranormal genre, “Street Magic” is Caitlin Kittredge’s first novel in the Black London series. Children are being kidnapped in London and found blind five days later.

Mage Jack Winter provides a tip to Pete Caldecott, the detective who, a dozen years before, had witnessed Jack’s death. The two obviously have unresolved issues, but those are shoved aside as they fight time — and the magic Pete has believed merely the stuff of nightmares until now — to save the latest victim.

Though obviously of a supernatural nature, “Street Magic” may appeal to mystery fans or those who prefer ghost stories more than the current trend of vampires and werewolves.

Cool Yule Story Time

Teen Advisory Board members will read books and lead children in creating a craft item to take home on Tuesday, Dec. 1, at 6:30 p.m.

The story time for pre-school children ages 3 and up will feature a holiday theme. This story time will meet in the library meeting room and is free and open to the public. Refreshments will be provided by the Teen Advisory Board.
