Mary ‘Betty’ Green

Mary “Betty” Green, 89, of Newton died Monday, Nov. 16, 2009, at Careage of Newton in Newton.

A funeral service will be at 1 p.m. Thursday, Nov. 19, 2009, at the Wallace Family Funeral Home in Newton. The family will greet friends from 5 to 7 p.m. today at the funeral home. Burial will be at Newton Union Cemetery.

Memorials in Betty’s name may be left at the Wallace Family Funeral Home.

Survivors include her husband, Otto of Newton; a daughter, Gayla (David) Hannagan of Newton; two sons, Gary O. Green of Newton and Galen Green of Newton; six grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; two sisters, Angela Hindman of Newton and Kathryn Davis of Pleasant Hill.

She was preceded in death by her parents; a son, Gil Francis Green, in infancy in 1960; a daughter, Gloria Marie Green Clement, in 1989; and daughter-in-law, Penny A. Green, in 2008.
