LWV to meet Thursday in Newton

The November meeting of the League of Women Voters of Jasper County is scheduled for 7:30 p.m. Thursday at Park Centre in Newton.

The topic of discussion will be Iowa Water Quality. The speaker will be Vince Sitzmann, a regional coordinator with the Iowa Department of Agriculture, Division of Soil Conservation. Regional coordinators provide technical assistance to existing watershed and water quality efforts and help new watershed-based efforts addressing natural resource issues.

Sitzmann will be able to address water quality as it relates to agricultural issues.
