Financial aid night planned for NHS students Nov. 30

The Newton Senior High School guidance office has invited a representative from the Iowa Student Loan College Access Network (ICAN) to provide a free financial aid presentation at 7 PM on Monday, Nov. 30, in room 11 at the high school.

The presentation is geared to high school seniors and their parents. High school juniors and their parents also are welcome to attend.

Topics will include:

• Completing the FAFSA (Free Application for Federal Student Aid)
• Electronic processing
• Deadlines
• Overview of the financial aid process
• Types of financial assistance available
• Scholarships and scams
• Helpful tips
• Where to go for help
