Newton Christian School to host benefit dinner on Friday at CMA
The Newton Christian School will host its annual benefit dinner on Friday, Nov. 13, at 6:30 p.m. at Community Heights Alliance Church Worship Center, which is located at 2500 S. 13th Ave. E. in Newton.
This year’s theme is “Choose this day whom you will serve.” This theme ties into the Bible verse found in Joshua 24:15, which reads, “... choose for yourselves this day whom you will serve ... but as for me and my house, we will serve the Lord.” The keynote speaker for this year’s dinner will be Robert E Stouffer, PH. D. Stouffer is the superintendent of Des Moines Christian School. He is a fifth generation educator who taught high school English and coached numerous sports teams in several Iowa communities.
Entertainment will be provided by the Heartland Youth Chamber Choir. The ensemble features singers in senior high school. They focus on diverse music and SATB literature. The Chamber Choir tours both domestically and internationally. Dinner is provided by the families of the more than 50 students who are currently attending the Newton Christian School. These families represent many of the churches in the Newton area.
