Democrats soup supper well attended

To the Editor,

Thank you, to everyone who attended the Jasper County Democrats’ Annual Soup Supper and Auction on Sunday. Your contributions will support our candidates and causes.

It was exciting to see such a large crowd come out to hear Congressman Boswell, Secretary of State Mauro, First Lady Mari Culver, Sen. Dennis Black, and US Senate Candidate Tom Fiegen, among others.

The star of the evening was Bill Gannon of Mingo. Congratulations to Bill, recipient of the 2009 ‘Soapy’ Owens Award.

Also, a big thank you to everyone who contributed to our food drive. The canned goods will be donated to a local food pantry. This was a great way for you to help our neighbors-in-need during the upcoming holiday season. Your generosity is appreciated.
