Registration renewals for ATVs, snowmobiles now being accepted

Current registrations on all recreational ATVs and snowmobiles expire Dec. 31.

Current owners of ATVs, off-road motorcycles and snowmobiles can renew their registrations by mailing the $17.75 registration fee to the Jasper County Recorder, P.O. Box 665, Newton, IA 50208. Registrations also may be paid in the office between 8 a.m. and 4:30 p.m. Monday through Friday. The over-the-counter fee is $16.75.

Owners must provide a description of their machine that includes the VIN number and the make of the machine. ATV owners also must provide their driver’s license, Social Security number or Department of Natural Resources number and the owner’s date of birth.

When renewing by mail, owners also are asked to include a day time phone number for questions.
