Hawks drop road game at Keota

KEOTA — Despite 11 kills from Tara Van Rees and 10 more from Tessa Engle, it wasn’t enough for the Lynnville-Sully volleyball team Wednesday night as Keota took a 25-23, 26-24, 15-25, 25-23 victory.
The win moves Keota to 3-3 in South Iowa Cedar League play, while Lynnville-Sully drops to 1-6 in conference action.
Besides 10 kills, Engle led the team with seven serving aces, while outside hitter Kelsey Beyer had eight kills and six service aces. Outside hitter Caitlin Cross added four aces.
Setter Josie Morris led the team with 24 setting assists, along with collecting 10 digs. Libero Katelyn Van Wyk had 28 digs.
The Hawks (4-14) are off until Monday’s conference contest with Belle Plaine in Sully.
