Barrett Homemakers

The Barrett Homemakers met in the Garden Room at Park Centre for their June meeting with Dorothy Wood as hostess.

President Pat Bates called the meeting to order and Barbara Tinineko opened the meeting by reading about the History of Flag Day and the History of Fathers Day. She also read a poem titled “I Am Your Flag.”

Roll Call was answered by ten members and one guest, Joan Lane, telling about their honeymoon trips.

The minutes of the previous meeting were read and approved and the treasurers report was given.

Thank you notes were read from the Dammeier Family and Hospice of Jasper County for the donation made in memory of Karl Dammeier.

A discussion was held concerning the September meeting and that was tentatively set for the West Side Diner in Grinnell. Other possibilities were discussed and tabled but will be considered at another time.

Pennies for Barrett were collected.

The hostess read from cards suggesting topics  for discussion and these inspired many interesting comments.

The July meeting will be held at the home of Mary Klemm in Kellogg.
