Hawks see mixed results in SICL triangular

BELLE PLAINE — The Lynnville-Sully girls golf team picked up a close win over Iowa Valley Wednesday, while the boys team split a triangular with Belle Plaine and Iowa Valley.

Lynnville-Sully earned a 210-211 win on the girls side, with Aimee Rolffs carding a 49 at the Belle Plaine Country Club.

Megan Ehlen of Belle Plaine was low golfer on the girls side, but the Plainsmen didn’t have enough golfers for a team score.

Josie Morris followed Rolffs with a 52, Bailey Zegers shot a 53 and Cierra Stafford rounded out the counting four with a 56.

For the boys, Belle Plaine shot a 156, Lynnville-Sully brought a 170 to the clubhouse and Iowa Valley carded a 186.

Belle Plaine’s Mitch Jacobi shot a 1-under-par 35 as the Plainsmen had three golfers shoot in the 30s.

Nick Beyer and Tom Trettin each shot 40 for Lynnville-Sully, while Bill Trettin carded a 44. Zach Stafford rounded out the counting four golfers with a 46.

Colfax-Mingo golfers sweep Colo-Nesco

COLO — Colfax-Mingo swept a Heart of Iowa Conference match with Colo-Nesco Tuesday at Twin Anchors Golf Club.

On the boys side, the Tigerhawks earned a 159-202 victory.

Mitch Tomlonovic was low golfer with a 37, Chase Russell shot a 39, Alex Russell carded a 40 and Connor Parker rounded out the counting four with a 43.

For the girls, Colfax-Mingo came away with a 189-228 win.

Breanna Hainer led the team with a 42, Brooke Talsma shot a 48 and Andrea Hodgson and Josie Redman collected 50s.
