Text Size: AaAaAaAaAa

Because of the current economic recession, the State of Iowa Low-Income Home Energy Assistance Program (LIHEAP) has extended the application deadline to May 29.

The program was established to help qualifying low-income Iowa homeowners and renters pay for a portion of their primary heating costs for the winter season.

Assistance is based on household gross income, household size, type of fuel, and the type of housing.  All households meeting the income guidelines are encouraged to apply for assistance.

Those interested in the program should contact the local Community Action Program for additional information regarding income documentation and household information needed to apply. Contact the Red Rock Area Community Action Program Inc. at Jasper County Outreach Center, 115 N. Second Ave. E. Suite A, Newton, IA 50208, or (641) 792-3008.
