Officials with the Jasper County Sheriff’s Office said a Prairie City man was traveling northbound on a motorcycle with another person in the 11500 block of Highway S6G just after 9 p.m. when they hit the deer. The impact resulted in an explosion of flames, officials said, and the passenger was airlifted for medical attention. The driver was taken to a hospital by ambulance. The names of the victims and additional information have not been released by the Jasper County Sheriff’s Office at this time.
