  • Something Stripped Away, a modern rock band from Marshalltown, which has “glass shattering vocals and face melting guitar riffs,” and they have been said to be the next “Hootie and the Gang.”
  • Hadrian’s Crossing presents a powerful mix of melody and metal. Influences include Dream Theatre, Lamb of God, Tool, Children of Bodom and Between the Buried and Me. The band is currently seeking to fill out their lineup and will be moving to Los Angeles at the end of the summer. Members include “Samuel The Quick” on guitar, “Taylor The Triumphant” on guitar, “Wilhem the Wicked” on drums, and “Jordan The Temporary” on bass

However, the band does not play these genres, They also enjoy playing freestyle/progressive and dancing music. Band members include Nathan Smith, Matt Ibbitson, Adam Pettyjohn and Nic Smith.
  • The Postulates have been in existence for roughly three months. They’re a combination of rock, jazz, alternative and love. Band practices consist of intense jam sessions, Alex taking his shirt off and Chris eating all of Nate’s food. The band is from Newton. Band members include Alex Gearhart, Au Dunn, Nate Hill, Chris Tomlin and Jordan Leckband.
  • Capitol Hill is from Colfax. The band is young but on the rise. Capitol Hill mixes punk rock with fast paced melodic hooks.
